Meet such an employee at SILA – Dinesh Gupta, who overcame the turbulence in his initial work life and currently works as a manager in the Accounts & Finance Dept.

Read what he has to say in his own words, in this Employee Journey Blog Post.

In his words,

Q. WHAT IS YOUR ROLE IN SILA?

A. Currently I am working as a Manager in the Accounts & Finance department. I look into all areas related to accounting, mainly bank transactions and fund allocations.

Q. TELL US ABOUT YOUR BACKGROUND, HOW DOES IT HELP YOU IN THE WORK YOU DO?

A. I belong to a middle class family, born and brought up in Mumbai. I finished my studies from Shri Gauri Dutt Mittal Vidhyalay. I never thought I would never be doing a job as my father has always been into business. One of my friends referred me to work with SILA as he was aware of my interests in working with a start-up . Later when I met my Directors, I was very much sure that this was the actual beginning of my career. Now,  I have been with SILA ever since the inception of the it in 2010.

Q. HOW HAS YOUR CAREER PATH BEEN?

A. So far it has been good. There was a bit of a turbulence earlier when I had struggled with communicating in English and formatting correct one line sentences. I was not comfortable with the language and so they arranged for an English speaking and email etiquette training. SILA has always made sure about looking out after their employees, giving an open playground to explore strengths, weaknesses and different fields. The training made me feel more confident and motivated me to work hard. Since I have been with SILA from the beginning, I have had the opportunity to learn and be a part of all the departments. I eventually ended up managing the Accounts & Finance vertical and today I believe it is my forte.

Q. WHICH HAVE BEEN SOME OF THE MOST CHALLENGING MOMENTS IN SILA?

A. Interactions with colleagues and bridging the gap were a task but then things eventually did fall into place. Building processes, implementing and then eventually following them has been a challenging task and always will be in a growing company.

Q. HOW DO YOU MAINTAIN YOUR WORK LIFE BALANCE?

A. Since I am still learning and getting to understand the processes, I wish to stay focused on my career for the time being and then look at my personal life later.

Q. HOW HAS YOUR JOURNEY BEEN IN SILA?

A. It has been a great learning experience so far, I have seen exponential growth in myself and I am thankful to the Directors for giving me this opportunity and showing their faith in me.

Thank you, Dinesh.
