Tara Jewelers

Project Management & Advisory

ABOUT THIS PROJECT
PROJECTED DETAILS

CM&D SILA was hired as Tara Jewels’ Project Representative for their retail rollouts. These rollouts, in two phases consisted of 35 retail locations Pan-India. CM&D Sila’s role was to oversee and manage the schedule & quality as well as certify contractor progress payments.

Our project team consisted over three members:

Project Manager

Procurements Manager & Quantity Surveyor

Assistant Project Manager

The Project Plan focused on:

Material Delivery & logistics

Clear Sequencing of activities

Punch listing

Daily follow ups with all contracting agencies

Liasing with Architect, Owner and Contractor to resolve RFI’s and disputes quickly

In Phase 1, CM&D SILA faced the unique challenge of finding that some locations were not as per site survey. In fact, one location had a sewer access within the store area. To counter such problems, CM&D SILA developed a number of processes, which would be adopted in phase 2, which included a mandatory site visit by the Architect team prior to finalising locations.

As the contractors were small scale and lacked sophisticated supervision and reporting methods, CM&D SILA developed checklists and forms specific to the project in order to make sure project documentation was maintained. This aided communications and opened up a clear channel from the contractor teams to the Owners routed via our team.

Phase I and Phase II were delivered on schedule within the prescribed quality standards.
