Tata Steel BSL Ltd. is one of the prominent names in the Indian Steel industry. Backed with more than 27 years in the industry, they are now India's 3rd largest secondary steel producing company. As one of the largest integrated steel players in India, Tata Steel had a large requirement of various maintenance tasks that needed to be carried out through an integrated facility management company. 

About the Facilities

SILA underwent a requirement program to ascertain the needs of the plant area and commenced its services from 1st March 2019 at the plant located in Khopoli, Raigad with a total team strength of 80. This includes housekeeping services, cleaning & maintenance, along with a timely clean-up of large oil tankers. The team at TATA Steel consists of Supervisors, Facility Manager, and Housekeeping workers. 

Challenges Faced

The client needed a very extensive compliance management which was supported by our proprietary software “SILA Connect”. Regular union strikes was another challenge that we faced at the site which was affecting the site's operations. The facility team therefore took a proactive step on this issue and streamlined a better hiring process for staff in order to avoid strikes and shutdowns.
