Employee(s) are the biggest asset in any organisation. Sincerity, honesty, productivity and mutual trust are essential qualities to be possessed by them. Not only do they work hard, but they also work smart. Meet such an employee – Vinay Gangan at SILA. Read his employee journey and what he has to say in his own words.

Q. WHAT IS YOUR ROLE IN SILA ?

A. Currently, I am the Assistant Manager – Procurement at SILA, where I am managing PAN India material requirements and maintenance of assets, two of my key responsibilities among others.

Q. TELL US ABOUT YOUR BACKGROUND, HOW DOES IT HELP YOU IN THE WORK YOU DO?

A. I have been with SILA for 3 years now, started at 24. I began my career at 18 by doing clerical jobs at SNDT and few other institutions. After completing my Bachelor of Commerce, I settled with K Hospitality group in their accounts division. As compared to my experience from the practical knowledge at SILA, my previous background was very much around the accounting part. As someone who begins from the bottom of the ladder, I feel my background has always taught to respect and treat every job equally at the same time it has also taught me that knowledge, honesty and smart work always can simplify your path to achieving greater heights.

Q. HOW HAS YOUR CAREER PATH BEEN?

A. It’s been on the rise so far except a few exceptions where I find myself guilty of staying longer than I should have. At this point in my career, I feel it’s important to gain as much knowledge as I could from whatever sources possible and the rest of it would take care of itself.

Q. WHICH HAVE BEEN SOME OF THE MOST CHALLENGING MOMENTS IN SILA?

Facing our Directors, I feel it’s one of the main challenges of our daily routines at SILA. When I say so, it’s not the fear of any undone work, but it is because of the knowledge gap between them and us, and also their trust on us to perform at the highest level. On a more personal note, implementation and automation of routine work processes through technology has always been a challenge I have loved understanding and working on.

Q. HOW DO YOU MAINTAIN YOUR WORK LIFE BALANCE?

A. When you have your processes in place, it’s easier to take time out for yourself and maintain your work life balance, as in SILA

Q. HOW HAS YOUR JOURNEY BEEN IN SILA?

A. It has been a roller coaster ride. SILA has definitely provided the launchpad to aim higher in my life. I would like to take this opportunity to thank Kabir Sir, Rushabh Sir and Sahil Sir for showing faith in me and giving me the authority to lead such an important department in SILA.

Thank you for your kind words, Vinay.Know what other employees have to say about their journey at SILA.
